Paper bag must have a manufacture’s stated capacity of one-eighty barrel (882 cubic inches) or larger. No old growth fiber, 100% recyclable, 40% minimum of PCW and specific ID requirements.

A bag with handles that is specially designed and manufactured for multiple reuse and is (1) made of cloth or fabric and /or (2) made of durable plastic that is at least 2.25 mil thick.

On February 24, 2016 the City of Tacoma’s Infrastructure, Planning and Sustainability Committee held meeting to review the city wide survey. The recommendation is they presue a city ban on plastic bags and $0.05 fee on paper.
