On June 6, a bag ordinance was introduced in Jersey City and will be up for first reading on June 13. The bill bans all bags from being provided by retail establishments except for reusable bags and recyclable paper bags. Recyclable paper bags is defined as 100% recyclable, at least 40% post-consumer recycled content, and labeled as such.
